Pastor David is Senior Pastor and leads the 5pm service!

I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home and was a part of amazing, Spirit-filled churches.  My folks were both faithful followers of Christ and provided my brother and I solid examples of Christ-followers.  At 8 years of age, I made a commitment to Jesus Christ and knew at that moment I was called to full-time ministry.  However, during my late high school years and early college years, I avoided and ran from God’s plan for my life.  My Junior year in college, after wrestling with the Lord, I finally submitted to the Lord and began to make His calling on my life public.  Within weeks, I was hired as a youth minister and have now been in ministry for over 30 years having served churches in Littlefield, Greenwood, Stamford, San Antonio, Cedar Creek and Dripping Springs.  I am now incredibly honored to lead  at Driftwood UMC and The Journey UMC.

While involved in college I met a beautiful girl named Gena who is a follower of Christ.  Shortly after college we married and have now been happily married for 26 years and I consider her my partner in leading both churches.   God blessed us with 3 wonderful children and an amazing son in law:  Maegan and her husband Andrew, Alyssa and Reece.

Gena and I feel so blessed to be leading Driftwood United Methodist and The Journey.  We love sharing the Word, loving people, equipping the family and laughing with the Beloved of God.
